SSSC responses to consultations

Our written responses to major external consultations are available on this page.

In the interests of ensuring maximum transparency, we make every effort to secure consent to publish all responses in full, subject only to necessary redactions in the interests of data protection. The SSSC has to comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act.

The Scottish Government held a consultation on the safeguarder Panel. A safeguarder is a person appointed by a children’s hearing, pre-hearing panel (PHP) or a sheriff to safeguard the interests of a child (or children) in a case. The SSSC’s response is attached.

The General Teaching Council for Scotland held a consultation on proposed changes to their Registration and Standards rules.  The SSSC’s response is attached.

The Low Pay Commission held a call for evidence on the National Minimum Wage and the likely impact of the forthcoming National Living Wage.  The SSSC’s evidence is attached.

The Migration Advisory Committee published a call for evidence on Tier 2 of the UK’s Point Based System. The SSSC’s response is attached.
