We work with social service workers to promote life changing careers in the sector. These volunteer ambassadors are passionate about inspiring new people to consider a career in this amazing but sometimes misunderstood sector. Career ambassadors want people to know about the diversity, opportunity and rewards that come with a social service career.

We have careers ambassadors from a range of work places. They have a range of skills and backgrounds and work with children, young people or adults.

Careers ambassadors can attend schools, colleges, employment centres, community fairs and much more. Some ambassadors prefer to speak with small groups but others are comfortable presenting to large audiences, like a college lecture. They’ll share their own career story to inspire others and give practical hints and tips about getting started.

Careers ambassadors will also share our resources, like the qualification pathways and careers booklet.

Would you like to be a careers ambassador?

As a career ambassador you will agree to attend or organise a minimum of one event a year and your employer must agree to support you. We’ll support you and you may find the role helpful to improve your presentation skills and access more professional development opportunities. Ambassadors communicate in an online group so you’ll need your own email address and access to the internet on a mobile phone or computer.

Employers can benefit from an increased local profile, new relationships with education providers and a positive reputation in the community.
