Delegates will have a chance to meet with and learn from others in different areas who have responsibility for the Act through both plenary presentations and smaller workshop sessions.
The event has been developed and is supported by the Scottish Government, Scottish Social Services Council, NHS Education for Scotland, Healthcare Improvement Scotland, Carers Collaborative, the National Carer Organisations and the Care Inspectorate.
Places are free and on a first come first serve basis, so register now to avoid disappointment.
Outcomes
The outcomes for the day include:
- those with responsibilities for duties under the Carers Act are better supported to deliver support for carers
- those with responsibilities for duties under the Carers Act are better supported to involve carers in strategic and individual decision making around carer support
- delegates feel able to try new approaches to supporting carers based on evidence and learning from others, and
- opportunities for networking.
Who should attend?
The event is for those who play a role in commissioning or delivering support under the Act or involving carers in decision making.

Poster presentations
During lunch there will be an opportunity for networking. If you would like to be considered to share your work, please select this option when registering. You will need to submit a PDF of your poster before 29 February 2020. Please note that there will be limited spaces available, and that all submitted posters will go through a shortlisting process. Successful poster presenters will be contacted in advance of the event.
