Promoting Excellence details the skills and knowledge workers need to work with people living with dementia. We help people understand the framework and how they use it to support dementia learning and embed it into an organisation’s learning culture.
We support people to develop their skills and knowledge by using the Promoting Excellence resources through discussion, interactive sessions, a Dementia Ambassador conference, connecting with others, signposting to key Dementia Ambassadors and Champions contacts and wider networks.
We work closely with NHS Education Scotland and organise events, masterclasses, dementia specialist improvement leads and Dementia Champion programmes.
We are also partners in the Scottish Dementia Awards to recognise and showcase exemplary practice to the sector.
Dementia Ambassadors help promote dementia learning in their organisations and communities and support them to use relevant resources and the Promoting Excellence framework to help and facilitate the learning of others.
We support learning hubs and sustainable networks of Dementia Ambassadors to support learning in their localities. We also help develop workforce capacity by peer support to enhance Dementia Ambassador confidence in leading learning.
We’ve developed a bite-size dementia guide to support Dementia Ambassadors and workers to increase their knowledge and skills about dementia.
