Stage 1

Apply

If you meet the minimum criteria and wish to apply for a job, please complete the online application form and equal opportunities form by the closing date and time shown on the advert.

As our online application form is powered by SmartSurvey there are a couple of limitations you should be aware of:

  • Unfortunately, there is no preview button however you can download a copy of your completed application before submitting.
  • Also, we are sorry that there is no ability for us to provide you with an email on receipt of your application – you should instead look out for an acknowledgement message that appears on screen when your application form is successfully submitted.

Please find some helpful guidance on how to write a CV, cover letter and personal statement – you will be advised in the job advert if this application method is being used to recruit to the post in which you wish to apply.

Stage 2

Shortlist

We review applications, match them with the person specification and shortlist against competencies and values for the role. Candidates who identify as disabled or care experienced and who meet the essential criteria for the role will be shortlisted for interview under our guaranteed interview schemes.

Stage 3

Interview

Shortlisted candidates are invited to an interview and skills assessment if required. We will let you know in your invite to interview email if you have to complete a skills assessment. You should hear back within two weeks of the closing date.

Stage 4

Selection

We notify successful candidates that they are preferred candidates. You will receive a call from the recruiting manager to give you the good news. This will be followed up with an email from the recruitment team.

Stage 5

Checks

We carry out pre-employment checks so we can confirm an offer of employment.

These include:

  • proof of ID / right to work in the UK
  • two successful references, where one is from your current or most recent employer
  • a standard disclosure check
  • occupational Health questionnaire and referrals where appropriate
  • registration and qualifications check.

Stage 6

Offer

We make an offer and negotiate a start date when all checks are complete.

We communicate with you by email through the recruitment process. If you have any questions during the recruitment process, you can contact recruitment@sssc.uk.com
